A traditional version
Our father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory
for ever and ever,
amen.

A modern interpretation
Our father in heaven,
May your name be considered holy,
May your earthly rule begin,
May the things you want be done on earth, like they are in heaven.
Give us each day the food we need
And forgive us when we do wrong,
Like we forgive people, when they do wrong to us,
Do not put us to the test,
And keep us away from evil.
You truly are the ruler,
You truly are all powerful,
You truly are glorious,
From the beginning of time to the end of time.
This is my prayer.
Each time we meet for worship, we pray for various concerns. We invite you to add your prayers to ours, wherever you are.
Everybody who prays has his or her own individual way of doing it, so there's no need to worry too much about the particular words you use, or even whether you say them out loud, or quietly meditate on the thoughts in your heart.
Some people like to light a candle when they pray, so that the flame can remind them of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
However you choose to do it, remember when you pray to listen and be ready for the prompting of the Holy Spirit as well. God still speaks to his people today.
